Projectile Device

The projectile device is a miniaturized, compressed air powered, ping pong ball cannon. The goal of this project was to create a device which could accurately launch a projectile a distance of 15-30 feet and consistently hit a given target within a 6 inch radius. An onboard microcontroller is capable of controlling the angle of the barrel, as well as the pressure and duration of the air burst used to fire the projectile. User input is received via USB, and the device is remotely discharged via serial console on a computer. All parts were custom manufactured at the UNM on milling machines, lathes, or 3d printers. This project was created for Mechanical Engineering Design II (ME360) course in the University of New Mexico Mechanical Engineering program
